Specialty(s): Dr. O’Connor provides general mental health evaluations and counseling for persons of all ages, including children, adolescents and families. She is a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor through the International Association for Play Therapy, and has decades of experience helping children and adolescents. Common treatment issues include mood and behavior challenges, separation anxiety, adjustment and stress management, parent child interaction, and recovery from hardship and trauma. Dr. O’Connor is a Certified Trauma Specialist through the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists. She offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing,) with applications for children. She is also trained in Michelle Garcia-Winner’s “Social Thinking,” a cognitive therapy for children with social behavioral struggles. This curriculum is highly successful in helping children and adolescents who are mildly autistic. This approach also helps children with ADHD and related behaviors to develop impulse control, better social awareness and improved executive functioning.

Other Information: Dr. O’Connor is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Arizona from October, 2013, to the present and she has been licensed in Alaska from 2003 to present. She has worked in Community Mental  Health with diverse populations in Phoenix, Arizona, Portland , Oregon,  and Homer Alaska.   For the past 10 years, she has practiced on the Navajo Nation in Fort Defiance, and Tuba City, Arizona.
